SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and has responsibility for providing financial reporting projections and analysis to support Senior Management in their strategic decision-making and attainment of company objectives.

 This position has very high visibility and interacts across all levels of the organization, including Senior Management, thus confidence as well as being extremely detail-oriented along with a high level of accuracy are critical factors to be successful in this role.

 Major Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • The preparation of financial analysis for ad-hoc projects and “what if” scenarios using financial modeling techniques.

 

  • Analysis of historical trends and current operating metrics to identify business inefficiencies and potential areas of improvement in the current business model.

 

  • Management of the annual budgeting, forecasting and planning (>5 year) processes.

 

  • Assisting with debt management and compliance reporting.

 

  • Providing support to the Investor Relations function.

 

  • Providing support to the Risk Management and Insurance Functions.

 

  • Other responsibilities as directed by Management.

 

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. CPA preferred.

 

  • Master degree in Business Administration or Finance strongly preferred.

 

  • Requires a minimum of 3 to 6 years of experience in a related field.

 

  • Demonstrated technical skills and experience in financial planning and analysis.

 

  • Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel and PowerPoint.

 

  • Must be able to work independently or in a team environment to meet the required objectives.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines as required.

• Review monthly actuals for all departments, make sure all costs have been booked correctly, book correcting entries if necessary. • Calculate and book month end allocation of costs and over/under-recoveries to each business unit. Prepare summary report. • Allocation of overhead departments – set up the allocation; clearing of the allocation; ensure allocation is done correctly; set up a report to be reviewed by management; explanation on the fluctuation. • Prepare monthly reports for Department Managers, review the actuals with them, answer any questions they might have, help them update forecasts. • Be responsible for the budget preparation for this BU. • Balance Sheet reconciliations. • Act as Project Manager for all projects in this BU except IT. The projects are mainly for secondments and for miscellaneous intercompany recharges. The PM role includes: • Coordinate with HR to maintain list of all expats with their billing terms and conditions, provide billing information to AR. • Coordinate with Payroll GL Accountant to make sure all allowances are reclassed to correct project/task. • Make sure all costs are invoiced correctly and timely (the invoices will of course be prepared by AR). • Review the monthly actuals to make sure revenue and costs have been recognized correctly. • Assist regional reporting manager and controller with the consolidation of monthly forecasts and budgets, review data provided by BU Controllers, etc. • Work with AP / AR to correct transaction errors. Education & Experience Qualification: • Bachelor of accounting with 5+ years of general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and budget / forecast experience. • Hard worker. Able to work under pressure and deliver high quality product. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment. • Great interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Assists the CFO in the evaluation of potential acquisitions and other business relationships being considered by the corporation.
    • Directs the development and maintenance of the department expenses and budgets.

So, I know everyone is very anxious to hear what is happening in Houston. Well, believe it or not it I have great news to report! Our Houston CFS office has been extremely busy this year. We had a great start in January and that has continued all the way into March. We have been placing accounting professionals in permanent and temporary jobs at a greater pace every week. A lot of companies cut pretty deep with layoffs in 2009 and are starting to see their volume of business pick up again. This is prompting them to first look to contractors and then eventually it will lead to more permanent positions. It may be time to dust off that old resume! Valuation and Litigation Manager

 

The ideal candidate will be a CPA who will manage all aspects of litigation and business valuation engagements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a financial expert with experience working with a team of professionals to identify, organize and analyze data on all different kinds of engagements including shareholder disputes, matrimonial disputes, forensic accounting, damage calculations, and estate and gift tax issues. 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 3-5 years accounting experience in a consulting, financial services or public accounting company.
  • Minimum 2 years business valuation experience with a public accounting or consulting environment.
  • Expertise in broad based business and financial valuations, multi-discipline appraisals, and fairness opinions, especially those of closely held companies, focusing on federal and state tax, financial report, and estate planning, as well as for tangible and intangible assets including purchase price allocations, intellectual property, ESOPs, and estate and gift and other non litigation valuations.
  • Understanding of financial theory, general accounting issues, and GAAP.
  • Experience in corporate and individual income taxes. 

Litigation Support:

  • Consult on large and complex litigated disputes and provide financial insight and clarity to counsel during all stages of a business dispute, from case theory development and discovery to expert witness testimony.
  • Serve as consultant to attorneys, assist in preparing questions for discovery and deposition of potential witnesses, serve as an expert witness, assist in reviewing and refuting the testimony and analysis of other expert witnesses, design court exhibits, and participate in depositions and court as necessary. 

Valuation Support:

  • Manage and apply business valuation approaches and methods to a variety of tangible and non tangible assets, including equity valuations, option analysis, and purchase allocations.
  • Manage the assembly, maintenance, and finalization of working papers that support valuations.
  • Perform valuations for privately held companies and/or high wealth individuals for purposes of damages litigation, marital dissolution, estate and gift taxes, stockholder disputes and other business dispute cases.
  • Help companies and individuals define, measure and articulate the value of their assets by providing independent and well-supported valuation reports based on economic and industry research and financial appraisal analysis and modeling. 

Other:

  • Manage and perform data and document intensive financial analysis and modeling / projections, strategic analysis, economic and statistical analysis, due diligence, valuation analysis, damage calculations and analysis, GAAP, litigation support, industry research, and related investigative assignments.
  • Assist in selling a business pursuant to a settlement.
  • Assist in compiling “Tax Affected” marital estates.
  • Financial analysis to determine separate property interests.
  • Write business valuation and litigation support reports.
  • Perform company, industry and economic research.
  • Assess operational profitability and financial condition.
  • Develop and review cash flow forecasts.
  • Navigate public company databases and filings.
  • Write narrative reports to support valuation appraisal analysis.

International Finance Manager, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

 POSITION TITLE

International Finance Manager

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer, VP Finance

SUMMARY OF POSITION

PURPOSE

The International Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all financial and related administrative activities related to company’s businesses outside the USA. Areas of responsibility include treasury, accounting, finance, financial reporting, bonding, banking, insurance and tax. Approximately 50% international travel is anticipated.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Treasury Management

1. In cooperation with senior management, determine appropriate levels and sources of financing / bonding / liquidity. 2. Develop, manage and provide accounting support for the Company’s F/X operations, currency hedging, cash management and other related functions. 3. Maintain strong relationships with the Company’s financial institutions, surety providers and other related firms. 4. Develop a timely and accurate process of monitoring cash flow to ensure a high level of internal control and maximize return on cash assets. 5. In conjunction with senior management, develop credit policies and ensure the proper execution of these policies throughout the Company. Ensure that receivables are collected as quickly as possible to minimize working capital needs. 6. Supervise and oversee outside attorneys as required.

Accounting / Financial Reporting

1. Create, coordinate and continually evaluate/upgrade the financial programs and supporting information systems of the Company. 2. Oversee International implementation of a new global IT system. 3. Monitor compliance to company intercompany pricing policies and adapt as necessary. 4. Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, special analyses and information reports. 5. Generate creative cost saving ideas and work with other managers to develop cost studies, management metrics and other information they can use to drive revenue and profitability, increase efficiency and improve the performance of their personnel. 6. As a member of the management team, develop business plans and forecasts to estimate the future impact of business decisions and changing market conditions. 7. Supervise the development of department budgets which consolidate into an overall corporate budget and become part of the corporate business plan. 8. Develop and monitor capital expenditure budgets considering project cost, financing costs, cash flow and return on investment. 9. Establish accounting policies and ensure records are maintained in accordance with GAAP. 10. Work with independent auditors in the preparation of the Company’s annual financial statements. 11. Supply all reporting required by any debt agreements and ensure compliance with all covenants. 12. Develop and maintain an internal control structure which ensures the integrity of the Company’s information, especially in the areas of revenue and profit recognition, cash management, financial reporting, tax compliance, etc. 13. Supply all reporting required in the debt agreements and insure compliance of all debt covenants.

Insurance / Tax

1. Along with outside advisors, develop and coordinate tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities on a worldwide basis. 2. In conjunction with outside advisors, ensure that the Company is in compliance with all income tax regulations including those related to intercompany pricing. 3. Review and adopt corporate insurance coverage to ensure that Company has the appropriate levels of insurance at the lowest cost. 4. Review and implement employee benefit plans that provide competitive coverage at the lowest cost.

Human Resources

1. Manage international departmental personnel to make best use of their skills; select employees wisely and develop their capabilities; administer discipline fairly; and handle human resource matters in accordance with Company policies in order to drive individual and group performance. 2. Foster Company’s culture by fully supporting its brand identity, company values and high expectations. 3. Champion, organize and monitor clear channels of communication and coordination between functional counterparts throughout the Company (i.e., across entities and between personnel in sales, estimating, marketing, project management, engineering, finance, purchasing, operations and quality.)

QUALIFICATIONS .

Education – A Masters of Business Administration and/or a Bachelor of Science in Accounting .

Experience – Recent experience in Construction or Engineering Industry is a requirement for out of state candidates. – 10+ years of progressively challenging experience in an international accounting/finance environment. – Demonstrated successful financial management experience. –
