Quarterly Newsletter for Accounting & Finance Professionals from Diane Delgado LeMaire @ CFS

Industry News:

Can you believe that there are only 7 days left until the END of Q1? Where has the time gone?

Time flies when you’re the busiest you’ve ever been and that’s an understatement. The Houston job market is hotter than a blistering August heat wave. I’ve never seen anything like this in the 20+ years that I’ve been in recruiting. Every industry seems to be hiring, even Oil & Gas! Renewables is the newest sector in Houston that has also started to add jobs. With all that said, it’s taking longer to find talent, many companies are taking advantage of interim support or temporary help to keep up with the day-to-day workload. So, if you’re contemplating on exploring the market….this is not the time to sit on the sidelines! Working with a recruiter can be done on a very proactive and confidential basis. Even if you’re sitting in a good place but would want to hear of a very specific role …. Just send me an email so I can keep an eye out for you.

See you in June with my next update! As always, feel free to reply and let me know if you are enjoying this quarterly content. I am always open to suggestions.

Data from Greater Houston Partnership’s Economy At a Glance:

  • General Update:
    • Russia’s invasion will impact Houston in the short / long term: Crude Prices will increase, inflation will accelerate, consumers will reduce spending, the fed will increase interest rates and businesses will reduce investments.
    • Even though all this is happening a local recession is very unlikely: we are coming off the best record for job growth (or recoup of jobs lost). Population growth is strong and there are still a lot of companies expanding in Houston.
