Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end financial reporting process, including preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure that financial statements are complete, timely, and accurate.

  • Prepare the loan draw packages for all development projects assigned.

  • Ensure development budgets, executed contract amounts, and commitments are not exceeded.
  • Accounts payable functions for development projects include but are not limited to: coding of job cost invoices, review of invoices to ensure billed amounts are being billed per the contract, coordinating with the Treasury department for draw payments, and vendor inquiries.
  • Prepare cash flow projections for valuation model and variance analysis.
  • Monitoring and communicating project budgets and actual costs to senior management.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Controller – Real Estate to address accounting automation opportunities within the RE accounting team and lead the team through the implementation process.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of four (4) or more years of experience in project and construction accounting encompassing similar duties.
  • Certified Public Accounting license (“CPA”) preferred.
  • Big 4 public accounting firm experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tax compliance and research functions essential to the preparation of partnership and corporate federal, state, and foreign income tax returns associated with the firm’s operating and management companies (e.g., Form 1065s, Schedule K-1s, Form 1120s, Form 5471s, Form 8858s, and Form 8865s)

Responsibilities

Overview of the Senior Accountant role:

  • Cash/Intercompany: Recording and reconciliation of transactions comprising cash transfers, recharges between related parties and other cash transactions to ensure timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Fixed Assets: Prepare transactions related to the capitalization of assets and related items such as assets under construction entries, project settlements, fixed asset rollforward, depreciation, and asset adjustments (retirements/transfers/accelerated depreciation).
  • Accruals/Prepaids: Assist in the preparation of monthly accruals for payroll and other people costs, insurance premiums, audit, consulting and legal fees, interest, and leases to ensure their timely recognition.
  • Prepaids/Amortization: Evaluate and record prepaid amortization transactions, including the setup up recurring entries and reconciliation of roll forward ledgers.
  • Subsidiary entities: Assist with forwarding and collecting subsidiary accounting information from external accounting firms and the preparation of TB loads.
