What You’ll Do as the Plant Accounting Manager:

  • Lead proactive variance analysis, sharing insights and opportunities with operations management.
  • Oversee monthly forecasting and analysis of P&L and balance sheet performance.
  • Collaborate with Operational Managers to align corporate objectives with financial and operational goals.
  • Manage full-cycle month-end close for the Merrimac ledger, including distribution and manufacturing activities.
  • Supervise and streamline finance and accounting operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

What We’re Looking For in the Plant Accounting Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proven management and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and analytical tools.

What will the Cost Accountant Do:

  • Become the SME on product, plant operations, and efficiencies.
  • Create Costing Models and Structure, Current and Future State
  • Determine Profitability and Manage Working Capital
  • Operational experience – savvy enough to go to the manufacturing plant and assess raw materials, product assembly, product waste (expired), line speed, inventory ordering and management, etc.

What the Senior Accountant will do…

  • Responsible for most complex activities associated with general ledger, financial/operating reports, and/or budget analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports, and review and verify accuracy.
  • Consolidates and conducts complex analysis of accounting and financial information.
  • Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
  • Conducts research and analysis and prepares strategic recommendations to management based on the analysis.
  • Identifies control weaknesses, communications to management to tighten and enhance controls and mitigate risk.
  • Makes appropriate journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Leads monthly and annual reconciliations and close activities for assigned accounts.
  • Works with the company’s SOX auditors; tracks audit findings;

What the company needs in a Senior Accountant:

    • CPA or CPA eligible

Individual Job Responsibilities– four to six key areas
1. Team leader and builder for local accounting related issues
2. Coordinate a thorough G/L review and monthly closing process
3. Perform variance analysis and comments for management’s discussion and analysis
4. Maintain consistency with respect to accounting procedures and files
5. Ensure procedures are in place for timely and accurate reporting.
