OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYST:

My client has a challenging opportunity for a Senior Quantitative Analyst reporting to the VP, Treasurer. The company has several important initiatives that have caused for the creation of this role. The major initiative and function of this role is to build and implement models that quantify the institution’s exposure to credit, liquidity, and market risk. These models and resulting quantifications support strategic decisions by executive management and the board of directors and drive compliance with regulatory directives (Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test – DFAST) as well as new accounting standards (Current Expected Credit Loss – CECL).

WHAT WILL THE SENIOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYST DO?

  • Develops and maintains expertise in the fields of risk quantification and modeling to support both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborates with business units to understand product characteristics used for modeling while assisting in communication and education of current and expected risk exposures
  • Develops and maintains model documentation to perform stress tests in accordance with DFAST
  • Assists in the development and execution of credit loss models used for CECL
  • Measures risk to earnings and capital inherent in the organization’s current positions as well as forecasts and business plans
  • Assists in the assessment of funding outflows and deposit volatility for the liquidity coverage ratio
  • Makes recommendations to management on risk mitigation strategies and capital allocation
  • Perform other quantitative analysis for Finance, LOB, and Senior Management and the Board of Directors, as needed.

WHAT WE NEED IN A SENIOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYST:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role or equal experience in similar areas in the Banking/Financial Services Industry.
  • Masters or PhD in mathematics, statistics, economics, or finance
  • Strong analytical, mathematics, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong ability to articulate complex theories, concepts, methodologies and findings in a non-technical manner to a non-technical audience.

Overview of the Corporate Accountant role:

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing tasks
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, financial variance analysis and account reconciliations
  • Analyze and reconcile intercompany activities and reconcile intercompany account balances
  • Extract financial data and calculate income tax provision for each operating group and for the consolidated group
  • Provide support to project accounting teams during the interim and year-end audit
  • Prepare financial statements for multiple entities and support the related audit
  • Research accounting guidance for GAAP and IFRS
  • Assist with annual prequalification processes with our clients
  • Actively identifying areas for process improvements and implementing IT projects to increase the organization efficiencies.

Preferred Qualifications for the Corporate Accountant:

  • Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience, Big 4 Audit or Large Regional Firm preferred (must have had publicly traded clients)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and evaluate financial statements, system, reports, internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of federal and state income tax accounting a strong plus.
  • Good accounting research skills

Overview of the International Tax Manager role:

  • Manage the reporting of US international tax aspects, as it relates to US federal compliance.
  • Manage aspects of the foreign income tax compliance and local statutory financial statements with external service providers and/or local country tax managers.

Overview of the SEC Manager role:

  • The development and presentation of financial statements in conformance with US GAAP and IFRS for Governmental agencies, the management and outside auditors.
  • Responsible in providing technical accounting guidance to the executive management, operations and other key stakeholders;
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting impact assessment (technical memo) of accounting guidance comes to effect;

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of direct invoice coding experience for both lease operating expenses and capital expenditures related to operated oil and gas properties preferred
  • Experience in a high volume processing environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook applications
  • Experience with electronic invoice approval system preferred
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
