WHAT THE CONTROLLER WILL DO:

The Controller will oversee and maintain financial reports, records, and GL, as well as reviews budgets and performs general accounting for complex projects and properties managed by the company.

  • Full-cycle monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting of operating real estate portfolio and development projects
  • Monthly and quarterly financial statements and supplemental reporting
  • Preparation and posting of monthly bank recs
  • Daily or weekly cash management cycle for multiple bank accounts
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation including follow-up of outstanding AR/AP
  • Monthly review of GL expenses & all AR/AP prior to posting
  • Monitor and review monthly receivables for accuracy, adjustments, and/or corrections
  • Review and activate leases in Yardi
  • Assist property management team with tenant ledger maintenance
  • Review and post monthly commercial billing for income-producing properties
  • Property Budgeting – Lead budget entry/review process and validate work of staff.
  • Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and year-end expense and income accruals, utilize budgets to analyze variances

What an Accounting Manager will do..

  • Manage accounting staff to drive timely and accurate completion of general ledger (including corporate accounts payable) and accounts receivable activities (invoicing, payment application, and collections) to ensure successful month-end close

Overview of the Accounting Manager Role:

  • Oversee month-end financial close process and related activities of the corporate books to ensure complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Managing/reviewing close activities such as journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and elimination of intercompany transactions
  • oversee the rebilling process in adherence to the transfer pricing objectives
  • Lead and coordinate Internal/External audit requests.
  • Review quarterly Schedule 18’s for the Tax Department
  • Support and assist Tax lead strategic projects (i.e. Transfer pricing)
  • Owner local chart of accounts

Preferred Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5+ years of progressive Accounting Experience.
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently recognize, pursue and resolve issues
  • A process-driven approach, with natural curiosity
  • Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Understanding of global entity structures and multi-country/currency environments

Revenue Accountant – Hybrid – DT Houston – dlemaire@cfstaffing.com

Responsibilities:

  • Oil and gas state royalties – prepare, file, and pay state royalties as assigned; reconcile any differences
  • Upload all royalty and severance tax payments into Excalibur
  • Monitor regulation changes with State reporting of royalties
  • Work with Land Department on issues concerning State royalty percentages
  • Upload all applicable journal vouchers into Excalibur
  • Work with Production Department to resolve applicable volume discrepancies
  • Accruals – research outside operated sales on wells for a series of properties to provide an oil, gas, and NGL accrual on a monthly basis
  • Gas Balancing revenue and statement preparation

Qualifications:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree (Accounting/Finance) with 5-6 years of oil and gas revenue accounting or equivalent experience, or high school diploma or GED with 9-10 years of oil and gas revenue accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excalibur or similar oil and gas accounting software, preferably 5+ years of hands-on use.
  • Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of production severance tax reporting required
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with State royalty reporting
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience in oil and gas revenue accounting practices with attention towards detail and accounting analysis.
  • Excellent working skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills, with PowerPoint skills being a plus.
