Overview: Responsible for controlling excellence as it pertains to internal and external reporting, adherence to corporate policies and procedures, controlling of expense spending, and management of all cash collections and payments. Additional responsibilities include all company/department support, data quality evaluation/validation, cost center support and supervision of the accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger departments.

Responsibilities: 1. Provide accurate and timely reports to management (internal reporting), as required. 2. Provide accurate and timely reporting of company data to Corporate office (external reporting) as required. 3. Analyze cost center reports, review findings with appropriate manager/management each month. 4. Work with all departments to improve/maintain data quality. 5. Develop budget and forecast consolidations as required. 6. Perform monthly closing of the general ledger and subsystems in an accurate and timely manner. 7. Assist and manage the process of customer collections, including adherence to policies, collection goals, customer collection logs, and proper cash postings. 8. Reconcile or manage the process for all general ledger accounts. 9. Adherence to all policies and procedures as it pertains to the disbursement of company cash. 10. Coordination and general support of Company audits of both an internal and external nature. 11. Act as a resource to management regarding all accounting issues, reporting and analysis. 13. Perform other directly related appropriate duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. 2 – 5 years professional experience in finance accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment. 2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. 3. Experience with ERP software required (SAP)

Joint Venture Accountant – Houston, TEXAS

A Houston-based oil and gas E&P company acquired an interest in onshore operations at the end of 2008. The company is searching for a candidate who will have property accounting responsibilities associated with these operations.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Track Cash calls and related prepaid accounts.
  • Assist Tax department with tax basis tracking and quarterly provision as necessary.
  • Perform required SOX control procedures and maintain related documentation.
  • Monitor capital spending and tracking of Promoted Well Cost progress, actual and committed, toward annual contractual Carry Amount Tranche.
  • Confirm and maintain property ownership with Land Department.
  • Cooperate with other departments in providing information as required or requested.
  • Prepare reconciliations and variance analysis for all onshore property activities
  • Process monthly Joint Interest Billing statements for natural gas properties.
  • Record monthly capital accruals for natural gas properties.
  • Process Promoted Well Cost invoices.

Record monthly DD&A for natural gas properties until Asset Management system is loaded 

 

Revenue Accounting Mgr. – Houston, TX. 110 to 120K plus 30 to 60% bonus potential!!!!!!!

 

Our client is going through some major changes and looking for great leadership potential. They are currently hiring a Manager of Revenue Accounting. This person will get to hire their own team of Revenue Accountants. The company is converting to SAP, so that experience along with oil & gas experience is required.  The company is  an independent natural gas and oil company. The position is located in Houston, Texas and the individual in this role will report to the Director of Oil & Gas Accounting.  Some other requirements include a minimum of eight years of experience.
