What will the Payroll Analyst do?
The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for ensuring accurate payments and reporting with respect to compensation of employees; E-time corrections, SME for employees and managers.
Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations with respect to payroll accuracy and compensation trends.
Prepare training materials, guides, and documentation when needed.
Support Payroll Administrators by entering, maintaining, and/or processing information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
Identify and recommend process improvements such as training, customization, automation and enhancements to maximize value and efficiency of the HRIS and internal payroll tools.

What we are looking for in a Payroll Analyst:
Degree and 3+ years Payroll experience preferred OR equivalent combination work experience in Payroll / Employee Time and Attendance Analysis
Multi-State payroll experience; Multi-Payroll experience
System Implementation preferred
ADP, Oracle – huge plus!!
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist I
• Process new hires, input benefit enrollment data, salary increases
• Prepare paychecks and direct deposit transactions for employees with precision.
• Verify accuracy of Electronic Time Submission and paycheck calculations using UKG.
• Process employee wage garnishments, including IRS levies, Child Support Orders, and Chapter 13 deductions.
• Manage paid and unpaid leaves of absence, including FMLA paperwork, as a Payroll Specialist I.
• Create and process detailed payroll reports for management.

    • Ensure time entries are accurate, including managing employee absences, vacations, and sick leave through UKG Time & Attendance features.
    • Review timesheets for accuracy before final payroll processing.
    • Ensure accurate tax calculations and deductions (federal, state, local).
    • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to payroll.
    • Generate and review payroll reports (e.g., pay statements, tax reports, benefit deductions).
    • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and provide reporting to management as required
    • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay, benefits, taxes, etc.
    • Provide guidance to employees on how to access pay information through the UKG platform.
    • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including preparing and distributing W-2 forms and other required tax documentation.
    • Maintain employee data and ensure that UKG software is properly configured to handle payroll accurately.
    • Troubleshoot payroll-related system issues or discrepancies.

Payroll Specialist Key Skills:

    • Hands-on experience with UKG Pro, UKG Dimensions, or UKG Ready.
    • Familiarity with its payroll processing, time and attendance, and HR functionalities.
    • Strong understanding of payroll principles, taxation, deductions, and wage calculations.
    • Knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and reporting standards in the UK or relevant regions.
    • Accuracy in payroll processing, timekeeping, and financial reporting.
    • Ability to analyze and reconcile payroll discrepancies and errors.
