Our client is a dynamic multi-entity, small-cap public company poised for growth and innovation. Sales are up 217% over Q1 2024, and we maintain a start-up vibe while navigating the challenges of the public markets. We seek a highly experienced and motivated Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations, manage investor relations, and drive strategic financial growth.
Position Overview:
As the CFO, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including SEC filings, SOX compliance, and the development of go-to-market strategies. You will lead efforts to secure financing through private funding and S1s and maintain a solid public-facing role in investor relations. The ideal candidate will have experience in public company financial operations, an accounting foundation (CPA required), and be comfortable operating in a small-cap environment. Your ability to communicate effectively through presentations and pitch decks will be essential in attracting investors and fostering growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with our company’s growth objectives and market expansion. Ensure all financial activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Investor Relations: Manage relationships with shareholders, investors, and financial institutions. Lead efforts in raising capital, preparing pitch decks, and presenting to investors.
SEC Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of SEC filings, including 10Ks, 10Qs, and S1s. Ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
Fundraising and Capital Management: Drive strategies to bring in new funding streams, including private financing and additional S1 offerings. Support long-term financial planning for the company’s growth.
Accounting Oversight: Lead the accounting function, ensuring sound financial practices and controls.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic initiatives, including market entry and product launch strategies.
Public-Facing Role: You will represent the company in shareholder meetings, investor presentations, and other public forums. You will also be the key point of contact for financial communications.
Team Leadership: Mentor and lead the finance team, overseeing senior financial reporting roles and external audit coordination.
Required Experience:
CPA required with experience as a CFO.
Open to industry, but some public company experience is required.
Experience with small-cap companies, ideally in a start-up or high-growth environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead successful fundraising efforts, including private financing and public offerings.
Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience in creating and delivering pitch decks to investors and stakeholders.
Solid accounting foundation—preferably from an operational, rather than investment banking, background.
A track record of successfully guiding companies through growth phases and navigating public markets.
Experience in go-to-market strategies and working closely with cross-functional teams to support company expansion.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary and equity incentives.
Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
A collaborative, start-up-like environment with an opportunity to drive significant impact.
Opportunities for growth and professional development in a rapidly scaling company.
Will provide relocation for the right candidate!
