Accounting Manager needed!
CFS has partnered with a large financial institution based in Stamford to help find their next Accounting Manager. This person will work closely with senior management, treasury, FP&A and other offices around the world.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the oversight the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of the books, reconciliations, and periodic journal entries
- Review and prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements in conformity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Primary liaison to coordinate and manage requests from external auditors for consolidated and statutory audits
- Management of day-to-day activities such as approving posting reclass journal entries, clearing open items, coaching less experienced staff members of the team
- Identification and implementation of improved close processes with the aim to streamline timelines while mitigating risk
- Ensure that the appropriate financial control framework and safeguards are in place to operate and accurately report the financial condition of the organization in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Analytical review of financial and management accounting information and presentation of analysis and commentaries
- Special projects as requested by management, i.e., legal entity rationalization
- Offer judgment on financial matters, accounting policy and on ways of improving the controls and processes
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures manual
- Interpreting and communicating financial information to non-finance users
- Various systems and financial projects as necessitated by management
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience including public accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Experience in financial services is preferred
- SAP experience is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration and technology skills
Salary: 120 to 140K plus bonus
