Overview of the SEC Accountant role:
- This SEC Accountant will work directly under the Controller
- Assist in the preparation and processing of various SEC filings, to conform with US GAAP guidelines and SEC requirements
- Prepare and manage the timeline and documentation requests, maintaining a financial reporting system, and drafting financial statement footnotes as needed.
- Oversee the implementation of a company-wide system
- Conduct research on technical accounting issues/new reporting standards
- Perform control activities and maintain related SOX documentation
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as well as controls identified
- Prepare reporting needed for external audit and tax teams
- Preparation of periodic reports to Management
Preferred Qualifications for the SEC Accountant:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or related field (Required)
- 5+ years of SEC standards expertise
- SEC Reporting (10Q, 10-K filings) (Required)
- GL Experience
- Experience in a small start-up company
