Key Responsibilities
As the Global Assistant Controller, you will:

  • Oversee the monthly financial close process in coordination with Eastern and Western Hemisphere Controllers.
  • Review and approve journal entries while ensuring accurate monthly account reconciliations.
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and perform account analyses to maintain data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and uphold accounting policies that support robust internal controls.
  • Partner with external auditors to achieve seamless audits and compliance.
  • Assist in compiling data for income tax return preparation.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and variance analysis exercises.
  • Evaluate complex technical accounting matters and assist in adopting new accounting standards.
  • Enhance accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies.
  • Lead strategic financial projects, including improving ERP system reporting capabilities.
  • Provide timely support and responses to internal departments, auditors, and tax authorities.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing & IFRS experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in Excel and the ability to manage large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A hands-on, detail-oriented approach and problem-solving mindset.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally, up to 10%.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Create and post unbilled revenue entries for month-end accounting
  • Accrue for power purchases at month-end
  • Perform volume analysis for revenue vs. cost of sales and book adjusting accruals
  • Maintain REC inventory and record monthly obligations
  • Create and post mark-to-market (MTM) entries
  • Assist with KPIs for retail revenue and derivative accounting
  • Calculate and record income tax and deferred tax
  • Prepare or review general ledger reconciliations
  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls
  • Assist with internal and external audits, as well as tax filings
  • Support the budgeting process
  • Handle various ad hoc reports and requests

Senior Accountant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA is a plus)
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in the retail electricity or energy sector is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Overview of the HR Director role:

Integrate the current HR policies and procedures of the operating divisions into one consolidated HR policy.

  • Develop corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, health and safety, etc.
  • Devise strategies for onboarding, performance evaluations, staffing, training and development, etc.
  • Oversee all HR initiatives and systems.
  • Supervise the work of HR personnel at the various divisions and provide guidance.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards and requirements.
  • Deal with grievances and violations invoking disciplinary actions when required.
  • Anticipate and resolve litigation risks.
  • Report to senior management by analyzing data and using established HR metrics

Preferred Qualifications for the HR Director:

  • BSc/BA in human resources, business administration or relevant field;
  • Knowledge of all matters concerning HR departments
  • Ability to manage the integration of multiple existing division HR policies
  • Proven experience as a HR Director
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting.
