Senior Accountant Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing detailed financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post accurate journal entries, conduct ad hoc analysis, and assist in the preparation of management’s financial reporting package.
• Conduct various financial analyses and transactional reviews, such as accounts receivable analysis, inventory reserves and adjustments, quarterly vacation analysis, gross margin review, and operating expense review, to identify unusual trends, variances, or unexpected balances.
• Assist in the review of cost reconciliation reports for potential inventory costing issues and aged payables.
• Utilize reports from financial reporting software, enterprise resource planning software, and fixed asset accounting software to analyze financial data effectively.
• Prepare timely, complete, and accurate quarterly and annual schedules, including analysis of accounts, ratios, and key performance indicators, along with explanations of significant or unusual changes or trends.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve departmental processes, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy through automation, leveraging business applications.
• Manage month-end rebate calculations/accruals to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of information.

Senior Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification preferred)
• 3 years of experience in accounting or related field
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting regulations
