Our client, a large E&P company located in Houston, Texas, has invited us to assist them on their search for a Project Cost Controller. This role is newly created and will play a big part in the future success of the client!
Here is what you could expect should become the next Project Cost Controller:
You will be working hand-in-hand with the Project Manager, the project team, and the management of the other E&P entities.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Controlling & monitoring project expenditures
- Informing critical stakeholders of actual, budget, forecasted project costs
- Leading the budgeting process, ensuring consistency with long-term plan and schedule
- Ensuring value of work done (VOWD) & monthly accruals is accurate and delivered on time and without any unexpected info
- Partnering with technical & operational management
- Managing internal controls, ensure SOX compliance
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or MBA + CPA
- 10-15 years of E&P expense accounting experience
- Strong knowledge in O&G operations for drilling, construction, and production expenses
- High emotional intelligence and ability to work with engineers
- Knowledgeable of and history of compliance with SOX controls, documentation, reporting requirements
- SAP experience
