CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop guidelines and procedures for a smooth payroll operation (~300 employees)
  • Directly supervise the payroll processors (2) in the payroll department
  • Manage the overall functions of all the payroll and payroll related functions
  • Weekly payroll processing for hourly employees and semi-monthly for salary
  • Remittance of payroll taxes
  • Filing of all state and federal payroll tax returns
  • Processing of W-2
  • Employee advances/garnishments/deductions
  • Set up Payroll functionalities in Accounting System
  • Coordinate all payroll audits/inquiries/corrections
  • Provide payroll and man hour reports to management
  • Process executive payroll and bonuses
  • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
  • Maintain the integrity of the timekeeping system security administration and control
  • Interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures

Required Education

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • In depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and process
  • Managerial/supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal payroll taxes
  • Proficiency in excel and access
  • Proficiency in relevant payroll and accounting software
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
