The Opportunity
As Finance Director, you’ll be the strategic financial leader responsible for safeguarding the organization’s resources and driving sound fiscal strategy. You’ll partner closely with the CEO and Board to translate mission goals into measurable financial outcomes — ensuring transparency, accountability, and long-term viability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure fiscal integrity and operational efficiency
- Manage grant funding, restricted accounts, and compliance with federal, state, and donor regulations
- Present clear, actionable financial insights to leadership and the Board to guide decision-making
- Lead annual audits, develop internal controls, and maintain financial best practices
- Collaborate across departments to align financial planning with organizational objectives
- Mentor and develop a small but high-performing finance team
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including leadership within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting, budgeting, and grant management
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to partner strategically with senior leadership and the Board
