What you will do..

  • Provides leadership and supervision in the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources Office. Implements all applicable personnel laws and regulations. Creates a service-oriented team.
  • Oversees the maintenance of employees’ personnel files.
  • Develops Human Resources policies and procedures in support of the culture.
  • Annually updates the school’s Employee Handbook.
  • Oversees communication and delivery of Human Resources Policies to all employees.
  • Discusses any new policies or policy changes with administrative leadership to receive appropriate approvals.
  • Directs operation of employee benefits programs and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Handles Benefits Administration including plan design, communicating benefits information to employees, and handling general benefits questions from employees.
  • Review annual IRS Form 5500 returns prior to submission.
  • Oversees and manages all employee relations and conflicts, working closely with department heads. Recommend resolutions and document all incidents
  • Consults with legal counsel when appropriate and/or when directed by management regarding personnel activities or compliance issues.
  • Supports payroll process. Communicates with HR Generalist on any changes/adjustments that need to be made in payroll.
  • Oversees the distributions of W-2s and ACA forms
  • Advises supervisors on compliance and applicable policies.
  • Coordinate recruitment activity with all departments. Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of appropriate job descriptions.
  • Conducts and reviews all background checks
  • Negotiates pay and offer letters
  • Administers exit interview process; final payouts; terminates benefits, coordinates COBRA benefits, and responds to unemployment insurance claims.
  • Analyzes, recommends, and coordinate training modules for managers and employees on a regular basis.
  • Designs and presents the new employee orientation for staff members.
  • Participates in annual faculty orientation.
  • Maintains and periodically audits all employee personnel files.
  • Prepares and coordinates relevant budgets
  • Act as Board Liaison with Board packets, the roster as well as communications with the Board Members

What the company needs:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) of Human Resources experience
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications. Familiarity with HRIS is preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP designation is strongly preferred
