What the Accounting Manager will do…

  • Review of all recurring journal entries, bank reconciliations, fee income reconciliation, etc.
  • Develop annual budget for Firm and subsidiaries including monthly monitoring and reporting
  • Review invoices submitted for payment to ensure proper account coding detailed descriptions in General Ledger and proper authorization for payment
  • Preparation of monthly cash and accrual basis financial statements for Firm and subsidiaries
  • Balance Sheet
  • Income Statement for the current month and fiscal year to date, month over month, and year over year including variance analysis
  • Budget to actual for the current month and fiscal year to date
  • Income statement for the current month and year to date and P&L by line of business and location
  • Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Backup and review of semi-monthly Executive Committee Reporting Package
  • Backup and review of Borrowing Base Compliance Certification
  • Serve as backup for quarterly commissions
  • Run annual reports on client billing to assist in the culling of client list
  • Manage department head requests for billings and cash receipts by month, by product line or client
  • Ad Hoc reports for Controller, Managing Shareholder, and department heads
  • Management of special projects

What the company needs in an Accounting Manager:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA License Required or parts passed!
  • 7-10 years of experience as an Accounting Manager
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Advanced Excel experience including pivot tables and v-lookups

  • Work one day a week from home (this could be more, but its their standard now)
  • Time & Billing exp (law firm, professional services, staffing, E&C consulting, architecture)

  • CPA or close to it a must. Controller retiring in 5 years. This would hopefully be succession plan!
