Salary: $50,000 – $67,000

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees, ensuring accuracy in wages, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Reconcile timesheets, commissions, PTO balances, and retirement plan contributions to ensure proper payroll calculations.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and ensure proper coding for departments and timecards.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related filings, including tax reports, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims.
  • Generate payroll and 401(k) reports, providing insights on labor costs and retirement plan participation. Develop and maintain payroll and retirement plan policy manuals.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries, assisting employees with pay, tax, and retirement plan questions.

Payroll Specialist Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree and/or FPC or CPP certification is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of payroll experience in a complex payroll environment.
  • Subject matter expert in UKG WFM system (payroll, scheduling, reporting).
