We’re seeking an Assistant Controller to join a dynamic property management firm specializing in commercial retail real estate. Key Responsibilities:

📈 Supervise and maintain financial records for the monthly reporting process, including close activities, operations analysis, and detailed reporting to Owners/Partners.

🏗️ Manage construction/development accounting, handling draws, bank interactions, and reviewing job cost reports.

💼 Review and approve commissions and tenant improvements.

📊 Oversee Federal and State tax reporting with a national CPA firm.

💹 Conduct actual vs. budget analysis and report on variances.

📄 Prepare various financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger reports.

💰 Review quarterly loan compliance. 💱 Prepare quarterly distributions for partnerships.

🗂️ Assist in annual budget preparation.

📋 Contribute to tenant triple net (NNN) CAM, tax, insurance, and OEA/REA reconciliations.

🔍 Assist with due diligence analysis for property acquisitions and asset setup, as well as disposition activities.

📞 Address inquiries from internal and external contacts regarding the property portfolio.

📈 Provide information and timely responses to internal departments.

🔧 Handle assigned special projects as required and other delegated responsibilities.

🕒 Ensure accounting department objectives and deadlines are met.

💼 Manage Payroll and HR functions, including biweekly payroll, annual insurance renewals, and 401K administration and compliance.

Qualifications:

📊 Prior experience with monthly close processes.

👥 Demonstrated ability to lead accounting department personnel.

📈 Intermediate experience with Excel.

🏢 Preferably, previous experience in real estate or property management.

🖥️ Familiarity with automated accounting software and property management accounting software, such as Yardi, MRI, Skyline, Sage, Real Page, Management Plus.

📝 Strong written, verbal, telephone, and email communication skills.
