HR Manager Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all confidential employee files, wage information, medical information, etc.
  • Oversee the process weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payroll
  • Create reports in Excel, including: Payroll Journal Entries, Headcount, Wage, Vacation and Sick.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices
  • Develop clear policies and ensure policy awareness
  • Maintain and report on workplace health and safety compliance
  • Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures
  • Answer all benefit questions, including Leave of Absences, Open Enrollment, New Hires, Life Changing Events, ACA reporting, etc.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices
  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Evaluates all accident reports – Review medical reports, witness statements, department investigations, compiles data for injury trends
  • Leads safety for manufacturing plant

HR Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in HR management, with a focus on manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations
  • Experience with a variety of HR software systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
