Overview of the Assistant Controller role:

📊 Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and complete results.
🔧 Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the Accounting function.
📝 Play a key role in implementing new systems and tools to streamline operations.
🔎 Review revenue, UOP depletion, DD&A, Capitalized Interest, and other monthly entries.
📋 Coordinate the budget preparation process for corporate and asset-level entities, including periodic forecast updates.
📑 Review account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
📊 Prepare and manage periodic financial statements for accurate reporting.
📝 Prepare accounting memos for internal and external audit purposes.
👥 Lead, support, and supervise the Accounting team in the U.S.
🤝 Liaise and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
🔒 Ensure adequate financial controls are in place for corporate and within the business units.
📝 Maintain and review accounting procedures and processes, driving improvements when necessary.
📊 Coordinate and prepare internal and external presentations.

Preferred Qualifications of the Assistant Controller:

📚 8+ years of accounting experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field.
📊 Proficiency in MS Excel, leveraging its advanced functionalities.
🗣️ Effective communication skills, allowing for collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
👥 Strong teamwork abilities, contributing to a supportive and cohesive work environment.
📚 Technical accounting research expertise to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
🌍 Familiarity with IFRS standards.
🏢 Previous experience in the upstream industry is highly desirable.
