Job Description:
- Manage state income and franchise tax reporting. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Coordinating preparation of annual filings
- Determination of estimated payment requirements
- Reconciliation of state tax liability accounts
- Preparation of quarterly state tax provision
- Preparation and monitoring of state FIN 48 issues
- Exploring tax planning opportunities to minimize state tax exposure
- Manage domestic transactional tax reporting
- Coordinate sales and use tax filings with the finance organization
- Serve as a technical resource for sales and use tax issues and queries
- Manage all state tax audits (income, franchise and transactional tax)
- Prepare unclaimed property tax reports
- Prepare Heavy Use Vehicle filings
- Manage property tax filings and payments
- Manage property tax audits
- Identify and manage incentive opportunities with state and local government authorities
- Prepare and file all domestic annual returns
- Prepare and file all necessary state registrations and de-registrations
- Assist with other special projects as requested by Director or Tax
Required Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting
- CPA or Masters degree preferred
- Big 4 accounting firm experience
- Experience in managing state tax matters
- Strong knowledge of SEC tax reporting requirements
- Hyperion product experience (HFM, FDM) is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to work effectively in a variety of situations
- Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
