Job Description:

 

  • Manage state income and franchise tax reporting.  This includes, but is not limited to:

 

  • Coordinating preparation of annual filings

 

  • Determination of estimated payment requirements

 

  • Reconciliation of state tax liability accounts

 

  • Preparation of quarterly state tax provision

 

  • Preparation and monitoring of state FIN 48 issues
  • Exploring tax planning opportunities to minimize state tax exposure
  • Manage domestic transactional tax reporting
  • Coordinate sales and use tax filings with the finance organization
  • Serve as a technical resource for sales and use tax issues and queries
  • Manage all state tax audits (income, franchise and transactional tax)
  • Prepare unclaimed property tax reports
  • Prepare Heavy Use Vehicle filings
  • Manage property tax filings and payments
  • Manage property tax audits
  • Identify and manage incentive opportunities with state and local government authorities
  • Prepare and file all domestic annual returns
  • Prepare and file all necessary state registrations and de-registrations
  • Assist with other special projects as requested by Director or Tax

 

Required Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting
  • CPA or Masters degree preferred
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience
  • Experience in managing state tax matters
  • Strong knowledge of SEC tax reporting requirements
  • Hyperion product experience (HFM, FDM) is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to work effectively in a variety of situations
  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills

 

Highly detail oriented with exceptional follow-up and sense of urgency
