POSITION DETAILS

Located in Houston, Texas, the individual in this role will report to the Manager of Joint Venture Accounting. This position requires a candidate with one to three years experience in oil & gas joint interest accounting. This position will be responsible for all areas of joint interest for a specific group of properties including data entry, data maintenance, JOA compliance and handling and resolving questions from working interest owners. Interaction with operations personnel to set up and maintain master file data will also be required.

　

Qualifications

• BBA / BA degree in Accounting preferred but prior extensive oil & gas experience together with a different degree may qualify.　

 

• Prior general ledger work experience desired.　

 

• Ability to handle multiple projects with accounting deadlines.　

 

• Prior experience with COPAS accounting / audits, material transfer process, JEs, closings, reconciliations and other areas of oil & gas accounting desired.　

 

• Microsoft Office Suite software proficiency.　

 

• Experience with SAP JVA application preferred.　

 

• Self-starter with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.　

 

• Ability to translate contractual and operational processes to accounting processes and master data file set-ups.　

 

• Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.　

 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to deal with all levels of personnel as well as outside JI owners.　

 

• Excellent interpersonal skills for working in a team environment.　

 

• Quick learner with excellent work habits.

 

　Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain joint venture accounts receivable, including applying monthly cash receipts, generating monthly aging reports and collecting late payments.　

 

• Prepare monthly accruals.　

 

• Prepare reconciliations and variance analysis, as needed.　

 

• Support internal/external audit testing, as needed.　

 

• Assist with master file maintenance within SAP JVA, as needed.　

 

Assist with projects (AFE) accounting in SAP and generate monthly AFE tracking reports
