    To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Stuart Smith and I am attending The University of Houston (main campus) at night in pursuit of a MBA and will have a certificate in Energy Risk Management and Energy Investment Analysis in May 2011. I obtained a Bachelors of Finance from Texas Tech University in May of 2003.

My most recent position was as a Financial and Supply Analyst in the Business Portfolio Management group at Reliant Energy. The Financial and Supply Analyst position was a promotion from the Derivatives group where I worked as a Senior Accountant /Settlements Analyst. However, due to cost cutting initiatives, I was laid off from Reliant in January 2010. Previous to Reliant I have been able to gain more visible roles to upper management through my tenacity and uncompromising financial ethics. My resume is attached with further details of previously held positions and a list of accomplishments that I have had.

Currently I am looking for opportunities with well established companies in Houston, TX. I am very confident that my quantitative analytical skills, writing/communication skills and thorough research skills that I have attained throughout my professional experience will allow me to make an immediate impact within the group with minimal ramp up time. I am results driven and I work well under strict deadlines.

I look forward to discussing this opportunity.

    Sincerely,

    Stuart V. Smith
